The European Qualifiers for UEFA EURO 2024 ran from March to November 2023, with the play-offs to be held in March 2024. The group stage featured 53 teams divided into 10 groups, with the top two teams in each group qualifying directly for the tournament. The remaining three teams in each group entered the play-offs for the remaining three qualifying spots.
Portugal's Perfect 10
Portugal finished with a perfect record in the group stage, winning all 10 of their matches. They scored 37 goals and conceded only four, securing their place at next year's tournament with ease. Cristiano Ronaldo was once again the star performer for Portugal, scoring eight goals and becoming the all-time leading scorer in international football.
Other Notable Performances
Other notable performances in the group stage included Italy, who won all 10 of their matches and finished top of Group C, and England, who won eight of their 10 matches and finished top of Group D. France, the reigning world champions, also qualified for the tournament after finishing top of Group H, while Spain, the 2020 European champions, finished second in Group C and will enter the play-offs.
